This week we’re sharing our collaborative Gramercy Thrifting Guide & printable map with Christene Barberich of A Tiny Apt, debuting our new & exclusive Favorite Things Column, and introducing you to our cool new friend: Karsten Jurkschat of Gumtree Golf & Nature Club.  

This week, we have 3 cool new shops to share with you that just so happen to all be in the same 3 block radius. It's a great little journey down Orchard Street that you can follow this weekend and have your own pre-Small Business Saturday. 

Beverly’s Shop

The popular pop-up homewares shop, Beverly’s, now has a permanent location on the LES and we cannot wait to see it IRL. Over on 27 Orchard Street, you’ll find chrome tea kettles, the famed hand pillows & colorful glassware to fill your kitchen. 

Wythe Shop

New York menswear brand, Wythe, is joining Beverly’s just down the block at 59 Orchard with their new pop-up storefront. The shop is open every day from 11a-7p through the end of the year. Come by, say hi & check out their new arrivals nowww.

Fredericks & Mae Shop

Fredericks & Mae, the design studio known for their bold confetti cutting boards now has its own shop on 6 Allen Street. After you hit up Wythe, keep moseying down Orchard and jump over to Allen to shop their mix of F&M exclusives & products from designers they love. Shopshopshop gifts & housewares galore everyday from 12-7p.

Our friend Christene of the wonderful newsletter, A Tiny Apt. is an obsessive thrifter with a major rate of success in finding hidden gems. As mutual friends/fans of our respective hunting skills, we decided to team up for a guide to our perfect NYC afternoon thrifting, snacking, and soaking up some local history, too. For this first excursion, we chose the Gramercy Park area—home to not only Christene’s #1 fave vintage haunt, but the teeny Teddy Roosevelt museum, writerly ghosts of the Players Club, the most magical secret bar lunch, not to mention Carrie Bradshaw’s new single-girl residence. We ventured just a little bit on the periphery, ensuring you have the best new-old mix for a three-to-four hour choose-your-own adventure. 

Each spot has been fully vetted-we spent the day walking the whole route!—including our picks for shopping pre-loved clothing & weird/amazing homewares, hidden restaurants for leisurely lunches, easy cafes for a caffeine boost, and all the mini history you can handle.

We’ve even included a printable map designed by us for you to take your day totally offline. With this guide in hand, and a good friend along for the ride, we hope you discover loads of local inspiration (we love you, New York) and maybe some tiny surprises you weren’t expecting…just like we did:)
