This week we’re sharing our Brooklyn Heights Neighborhood Guide, highlighting our favorite things this month, and spilling the beans on the coolest dining pop-up in the Hamptons this Summer.
Orion Bar
Orion Bar is a Korean and American bar by chef Irene Yoo and her husband Nick Dodge that just opened this past weekend in Bushwick. It's focused on serving Korean spirits including soju and makgeolli alongside anju, aka Korean drinking snacks. The casual spot is reservation-free (an NYC blessing) and is currently open Thursday-Sunday from 5p–12a with plans to extend hours and open days in the future. We can’t wait to pop in soon, drink too much soju, and finish the night with one of our Korean instant noodle favorites, Chapagetti, topped with brisket and truffle oil.

This one’s for all of our readers planning to head “out East'' this season. Ultra-luxury resort Rosewood Mayakoba's return to the Hamptons at Topping Rose House is ON. For one weekend only (July 12-13th), they’re bringing the flavors of their Mexican Caribbean locale to the gardens of this Bridgehampton mainstay. This tropical takeover will feature colorful Yucatan-inspired cocktails and a multi-course dining menu featuring a mix of signature dishes from Rosewood Mayakoba’s famed beach clubs & restaurants like their TJ Shrimp Tacos, Sweet & Spicy Ceviche, and Rib Eye Tagliata…plus a recreation of the resort’s beloved Aqui me Quedo food truck. Head here for all the info you need for booking those ressies.
A portion of proceeds from the residency benefit Centro Educativo K’iin Beh, Rosewood Mayakoba’s nonprofit school in Playa del Carmen that provides high-quality, bilingual education to children in the Playa del Carmen community.

Nestled between the bustle of Atlantic Avenue and the shimmer of the East River lies Brooklyn Heights – a neighborhoody neighborhood perched atop it all. Dotted amongst stunningly preserved brownstones are plenty of locally-owned gems ready to discover. While Brooklyn Heights is also known for its present-day celebrity inhabitants, a famous line from longtime resident Truman Capote says it all, “I live in Brooklyn. By choice.”
